The state of Uttarakhand also known as “Devbhoomi” and “Land of the Gods”, with its mystifying valleys, majestic mountain peaks, untamed rivers, dense forests, and conservation reserves has managed to enamor travelers from not just India but all over the world.
From spiritual enlightenment that provides inner peace and calms your mind to a strong rush of adrenaline that gets your blood pumping, Uttarakhand has an array of activities suited for both thrill seekers as well as nature lovers who are looking for an escape.
This backpacking trip from Delhi to Uttarakhand covers some of the most beautiful and serene places in Uttarakhand that you should tick off of your bucket list.
In this Uttarakhand backpacking tour package, we start our trip with Jim Corbett. It is the oldest national park in Asia known for its blend of nature and culture. Here, we’ll visit the sacred Garjia Devi Temple which is a holy Shakti Shrine. We’ll also visit Corbett Falls which is a scenic waterfall surrounded by lush green forests. Lastly, we’ll visit the Corbett Museum which is also the heritage bungalow of Jim Corbett.
Afterward, we’ll head towards the Holy city of Rishikesh which is the perfect blend of serenity and adventure offering thrilling adventures as well as the opportunity to immerse yourself in the divine energy that overflows on the bank of river Ganga. From offering adventure activities such as rafting, rock climbing, and rappelling to cliff jumping, Rishikesh also known as the Yoga Capital of the world, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Uttarakhand.
The thing that makes a trip special and memorable is the people who accompany you and so to make sure that you create some unforgettable memories, we conduct group activities and exchange stories on bonfire night in Rishikesh as well.
Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, this city has managed to carve its path to reach the heart of travelers from all over the world and is one of the must-visit places in Uttarakhand.
To make sure that you get to make the most of your trip, we take you to visit the iconic Beatles Ashram, Ram Jhula, Lakshman Jhula, and other legendary places that you can’t miss in Rishikesh.
Almost all of us get exhausted by the daily humdrum of our lives and are always looking for an escape that will help us get rid of the weight we otherwise carry on our shoulders. The “Ganga Aarti”, which is a ritualistic prayer ceremony that is performed every evening at the ghats of Rishikesh single-handedly manages to make you feel content and at peace and is the perfect way to end a trip before we depart for the capital.
The next day, we hike to the grasslands and lush meadows of Chopta. Located at a high altitude of 2,707 meters above sea level, it offers beautiful views of some of the most majestic Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba, Trishul, etc. This small village, nestled in the heart of pine and deodar forests offers you the chance to spot many rare species of birds and is extremely rich and diverse in flora and fauna.
We will trek to Chandrashilla the next day followed by a visit to the pristine Deoria Tal and hence will be ending this trip on a high note.
