Welcome to the Heart of India!!!
Madhya Pradesh, the second largest state in India, is often referred to as the “Heart of India” due to its central location. This vast state offers a captivating blend of wildlife, history, religion, and natural beauty, yet it may not be at the top of your travel wishlist. However, we are here to change your perception of Madhya Pradesh sightseeing.
The state is brimming with rich culture, tradition, and history, with its origins dating back 500,000 years. There are numerous opportunities for exploration in Madhya Pradesh, catering to all types of travelers, whether you’re an art enthusiast, history lover, or adventure seeker.
A backpacking journey through MP will allow you to truly experience the essence of the state. Our first stop on this tour is Orchha, a village nestled along the banks of the Betwa River, approximately 400 km from Delhi. This ancient village served as the capital of Bundelkhand between the 16th and 18th centuries. While the architectural style is distinctly Rajput, it also bears heavy Mughal influences. Next, we venture to Panna, renowned for its diamond mines in India, where we’ll also visit the famous tiger reserve through an exhilarating early morning “Jeep Safari.” The national park is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including Bengal Tigers, Sambar Deer, Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Stag, Antelopes, and much more.
Khajuraho is another must-visit destination in Madhya Pradesh, known for its ancient temples and exquisite art. These temples have been recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites due to their exceptional architectural prowess and breathtaking displays of intricate sculptures. Most of these temples were constructed during the reign of the Chandela dynasty. They are categorized into three groups: Western Group of Temples, Eastern Group of Temples, and Southern Group of Temples.
In a nutshell, Madhya Pradesh offers a treasure trove of experiences that will captivate your senses and leave you with lasting memories. It’s time to reconsider and place this incredible state at the top of your travel wish list.
