Overview

Uttar Pradesh, a magnificent state located in northern India, is blessed with a rich cultural heritage and beautiful landscapes. With its long history dating back 4000 years, Uttar Pradesh is renowned for its spectacular architectural monuments, breathtaking landscapes, and diverse people. Uttar Pradesh is also home to one of India’s first classical dances, Kathak. The state is known for its royal influence in various fields such as dance, music, and arts, making it a hub for art and culture.

The state has two major rivers flowing through it, making the cities along the banks highly religious, particularly Banaras, Allahabad, Vrindavan, and Mathura. Uttar Pradesh is also rich in architectural treasures, including the iconic Taj Mahal. Travelers in the state can cover the Heritage sites, which include Agra, Lucknow, and Varanasi. Lucknow, with its old-world charm, is considered a gem that reflects Awadhi culture in every corner. Another historical city, Jhansi, boasts several historical monuments such as the Jhansi Fort and Rani Mahal. Uttar Pradesh boasts of its delicious street food like samosas and kachori, and royal meaty feasts and kebabs. The best time to visit Uttar Pradesh is in October, just after the monsoon, when the weather is fresh and pleasantly warm.

Tour Plan

Day 01 Arrive at Varanasi | Vishwanath Temple
  • As soon as you arrive in Varanasi, the spiritual and cultural heart of India, check in to your designated hotel and freshen up.
  • Your exploration of Varanasi begins with a visit to the iconic Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It features intricate architectural details and offers a glimpse of devotees performing rituals. The temple is situated on the banks of the sacred Ganges, giving you a chance to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Varanasi.
  • After this divine experience, take a walk through the narrow lanes and Ghats of Varanasi. There are numerous places of interest here, from the Banaras Hindu University to Durga Temple, and the Kashi Vishwanath corridor.
  • After this spiritual rejuvenation, it’s time to indulge in a food tour. Varanasi is known for its culinary excellence, and you’ll have the opportunity to sample the local delicacies like chaat, kachori, and Puri with sabzi, Jalebi, lassi, and traditional sweets like rabri and malaiyo. You can also watch how these mouth-watering dishes are prepared.
  • At the end of a wonderful day, return to your hotel
  • Overnight stay in Varanasi.

Highlight of the Day: Kashi Vishwanath and Food Tour

Day 02 Varanasi to Saranath | Boat Ride (10kms, 30 minutes)
  • After breakfast, start your picturesque journey to Sarnath, a Buddhist pilgrimage site and a significant historical and archaeological site. Visit the Dhamek Stupa, Sarnath Museum, and explore other historical and archaeological sites that tell the story of Lord Buddha’s first sermon after attaining enlightenment.
  • After that, embark on a serene boat ride on the Ganges during sunset, and witness the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti ceremony at the ghat. You will be witnessing 84 ghats including the Ganga ghat here. You will also enjoy some snacks while immersing yourself in the beauty of Ganga. This memorable experience will let you experience the true meaning of peace and spirituality.
  • After the spiritual awakening, return to your hotel and relax. Prepare for an eventful day ahead.

Day 03 Varanasi to Chitrakoot (250 kms, 5 hrs)
  • After a hearty breakfast in Varanasi, it’s time to depart for Chitrakoot, a significant pilgrimage destination associated with Lord Rama.
  • Check in to your designated hotel in Chitrakoot, and get ready for a memorable day
  • Start by visiting Hanuman Dhara, a holy temple. Experience the journey through rope way which will leave you in awe.
  • Later we will head out to explore the Ramghat where Lord Rama and Sita are believed to have stayed during their exile.
  • To explore the epic voyage of Lord Rama and his family, witness the captivating laser and sound show narrating the epic Ramayana at Ram Ghat from your boat. The show is a mesmerizing visual spectacle that retells the classic story of Lord Rama, Sita, and Laxman.
  • After the mesmerizing experience, return to your hotel and enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Chitrakoot.

Day 04 Chitrakoot - Lucknow - Gomti River Front ( 260 kms, 6 hrs)
  • Begin your day by checking out from the hotel, enroute we will have a delicious local breakfast
  • On the way to Lucknow, we will visit Ram Darshan, a museum reflecting the life of Ram.
  • Upon your arrival in Lucknow, the “City of Nawabs” known for its royal heritage and cultural richness, check in to your designated hotel and take some time to relax.
  • Visit the beautiful Gomti River Front, surrounded by lush greenery, where you can experience the serene surroundings and take a leisurely walk along the riverbank.
  • After enjoying the picturesque view, return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay in Lucknow.

Day 05 Lucknow Sightseeing (Bada/Chota Imambara, Rumi Darwaja, Hathi Park, Food Tour)
  • Post breakfast, prepare to explore the cultural capital of Lucknow. The city is steeped in history and cultural heritage, and there are several landmarks that will give you a glimpse into its glorious past.
  • First, visit the stunning Bada Imambara, which features a spacious main hall without any support beams. Next, explore the intricate architecture of the Chota Imambara, which is also known for its unique design.
  • Another historical icon of Lucknow is the Rumi Darwaja, a magnificent gateway that was built in the 17th century and has since become a symbol of the city’s grandeur.
  • Later visit Hathi Park, a green oasis in the heart of Lucknow, is the perfect place to relax and reflect on the day’s excursions.
  • To experience Lucknow’s unique culinary tradition, embark on a food tour and savor the delicious Lucknowi kebabs, biryanis, and Awadhi cuisine.
  • With its vibrant culture, rich history, and scrumptious cuisine, Lucknow is a must-see for those who seek to immerse themselves in the diverse customs and traditions of India.

Day 06 Departure
  • Depending on your departure time, you can indulge in some last-minute shopping for souvenirs or local crafts.
  • Check out from the hotel and proceed to the airport or railway station for your onward journey.
